i watched a really good film yesterday night: l'enfant d'en haut (english title 'sister'; german 'winterdieb'). it is a swiss drama film directed by ursula meier which won various prices and was on the oscar shortlist. it is about a young boy, simon, who lives with his older sister in very poor conditions in a industrial site close to a swiss ski resort. simon steals rich people's skis and accessories and sells them to people living in his block of flats and a chef working in the mountain restaurant to earn at least some money. his sister is unemployed most of the time and the boy is in charge of money and food. the situation is getting worse and worse... but the film has got a comparatively happy end.
