saturday is trip-day: portobello road, notting hill, london. the portobello road is a road with uncountable vintage/second-hand/crafty/design-shops, colourful houses, a vegetable and fruit market every day in the week, and, on the weekend, market for everything of 19./20. century :D i always thought camden is cool, but at portobello road, you get cool stuff from camden and much more for un-touristy prices. i bought a really cool canvas bag with a deer on it and my first raspberries of this year (i am sorry environment and co2-emission). in the evening, we celebrated my friend svenja's birthday at a thai place in southborough and i had larb gai (yummy)... a great day!!

another random day at school is over :D in mr. h.'s lessons, we talked about formal letter writing (yours faithfully and stuff like that). in photography i'm still working on my personal project. the project is about how art influenced photography and if photography can be viewed as highly as painting, and we have to write quite a lot and respond to an artwork. i respond to a still life work of harmen steenwyck called 'an allegory of the vanities of human life'. the meaning of the picture is actually that nothing is valuable forever, the dominating subject is the skull. in my project, i wanted to show that our 21st century valuables are (for many people) technical gadgets, and to show that they are not valuable and important forever, i brought the skull into my picture...

still life, around 1600

my best response picture out of like 40 i took :D
