snooooow!! for english people: looooads of snow!! it started snowing at about 10 o'clock in the morning, at 1pm there were like 3 cm of snow, so we could go home, because the buses don't run anymore quite quickly with a bit of snow (english people don't know winter tyres)... so i had a good afternoon watching the last harry potter film (unfortunately with hardly any sound) with ellen and svenja :)

12ins are about 30 cm

snow!

ellen, svenja and me

the guy with shorts is one of the internationals. he always wears shorts. don't ask.

i went for a walk in the old part of tunbridge wells (called the pantiles) today - for the first, but definitely not the last time. i've seen some really sweet little shops, such as an old book shop and a kitchen utensils shop... :)

english people and their geography knowledge: 'switzerland... this is close to africa, right?'

it wasn't completely dark when i came home at 5 o'clock today - i'm glad :)

the big day of the maths exam is over - yippiee!!! the exam went quite well, i know that i've done a few things wrong but all in all it was good.

when i went to school in the morning, it was snowing:

when i arrived at school, i still had some minutes left before the exam, so i went to see mr.h. - he had his good-luck pig tie on, and he allowed me to put his photo onto my blog:
mr.h.

then i had to go to the cafeteria from where they took us into the library (only one person a time, they checked our arms (for notes) and we had to have sight-through pencil cases). there we wrote the exam. we get the results some time in march, so i just don't think about it anymore until then :D

on my way to sue, my local rep (wtf):

sue informed me that my organisation into gave permission to go to oxford (i filled out a form and my parents/host parents had to sign because it's further away then 30 miles) - i am very pleased, i plan to go with my friends in february.

now i go through my maths formulae and stuff for the last time - luckily i am not really nervous yet :)

after loads of studying i'm finally more or less ready for my maths exam on monday - yaaay i'm so glad it's over soon :D we expect snow for the next two weeks - my host mum advised me to buy wellies (because i have no snow boots) but i haven't got any. worst case scenario is that i put plastic bags over my shoes :P

i had my first zumba lesson today! svenja and ellen have been a few times before (svenja's host mum took them) and they offered me to come as well this week :) the zumba lesson was held in a to a sports hall converted church. at first, i had to sign a form that it's not the zumba teacher's fault when i break my leg or something - then we paid and went into the hall. in the hall, there were about 15 women of every age class (we were the youngest, then some 20-year olds, some women in their thirties, then some 50-year olds and two like 70-year olds - hilarious!) waiting for the teacher to get up on the little stage. the teacher was a woman, about 35 years old, with a green shirt with zumba printed on it. she turned the music on (some latin zumba-dance music, whatever), and i was hopping around for an hour. i must say i admire old grannies who do sports. i had big trouble doing the right thing with my arms and legs at once, but when the elderly lady did it, it looked quite good :D it was great fun though and as i thought we had just started, we were already stretching - with music and something like a dance :D i'll go again next week.

i just love thursdays :D after one lesson of photography, i went home, chilled out, then went to town with ellen in the afternoon and then to ellen's house for dinner and watching tv with her host family. it was a very funny evening - i watched east enders (a never ending tv-soap like gute zeiten schlechte zeiten) for the first and last time (ellen's host mum is kind of addicted). after watching tv, ellen's host dad brought me home - what a gentleman!
